Insightful Thinking

Design Brief
Logo design for a start-up psychotherapy and counselling practice. The client noted that if therapy is on a continuum from the super-rational to the spiritual, their practice would be placed on the middle. Thus, they would not want a logo that is too cold, logical and scientific, nor do they want anything that would insinuate anything spiritual, meditative and religious.
A text based logo, with the client suggesting design elements like an outline of a person's head.
Approach
For the design of the logo, It made the client's note of finding the balance between logical and spiritual. I tried to create a logo that seems approachable and friendly for the client's consumers. This is due to the stigma of using psychotherapy and counselling as a service; users of this service may feel embarrassed to need therapy, but making the client's brand approachable, ensures a sense of comfort and safety for their consumers.
Instead of an outline of a head, I gave the head a friendly face, suggesting the emotions would would have after psychotherapeutic treatment; looking forward into living a better life.
The green spark featured on the word "Insightful" gives the overall design a pop of colour and allows the logo to stand out when seen. The spark is also symbolic to a eureka moment one might go through during treatment, opening up their mind to see a different perspective that could help to live their lives.
Mana

Design Brief
Logo design for an upmarket brand that sells healthy anti-oxidant drinking water and facial cosmetics. The brand targets upmarket consumers with a high sense of well-being, exercise and facial care. The client wants a simple, bright and memorable logo that suggests ideas of health, water and nature.
"MANA" as main text accompanied by abstract design elements; with design elements to be simple, bright, clear, related with water. The text should take up most of the space of the logo; more than 60%. Logo should be green or blue.
Approach
In the brief, the client has emphasised the importance of water, nature and health in their logo; The ideal elements and semantics that they would want to communicate to their consumers.
Thus, I have translated their needs into a logo that represents freshness, serenity and nature. The wave that goes through the typography represents the free flowing nature of water which is then followed by a flock of birds flying away, taking natural elements to symbolise the freedom of a healthy being.
More Than A Painting

Design Brief
Logo for an upmarket online painting course that teaches women how to paint from start to finish. The client has requested a logo that could be pictorial or abstract but has to be playful, feminine, personable, modern and colourful.
Approach
I have created a logo that takes inspiration from feminine elements and encapsulates the services the client offers. The logo's colourful and friendly aesthetic gives the logo a fun and approachable perception of the brand which is important for the client's potential users to consider using their services; especially when it is for beginner painters.
